When it first began in the early 1920s, Pikes Peak United Way served approximately 500 people affected by conditions such as tuberculosis, poverty and old age.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: Pikes Peak United Way is teaming up with El Paso County and City of Colorado Springs to enhance communication with the public during a disaster. We are looking for volunteers to help take calls in the Joint Information Center. Ideal volunteers would be able to stay calm under stress, operate a computer/tablet, and show empathy to those they are talking to on the phone.
